End of Life Care
Death Doula Services
“Love and death are the great gifts that are given to us;
mostly, they are passed on unopened.” - Rainer Maria Rilke
When it comes to talking about death, there can be fear, anxiety, confusion and more.
When and where do you start?
Right here, right now.
When I am working with you my goal is for you to feel seen and held in what is so for you and your life right now. To open the door to how you wish to depart this world in a way that is supportive of your desires.
I believe that death and dying can be a beautiful process. Our work together will ask: what can we do today to welcome you into dying the way you want to?
My role is to advocate for and support you emotionally, mentally and spiritually. Together, we can explore any questions you may have, talk about the hard things, and help facilitate conversation between you and your family when desired. We can even work together to create anything you wish to leave behind (like legacy projects), or complete unfinished projects. This part of the journey is yours to mold and create for your dying process.
“Jennifer’s ability to read a room and provide exactly what is needed in the moment is helpful and nourishing.” ~ Family member of client.
Who is this for?
Are you feeling lost/confused about this process?
Are you unsure how to show up for your loved one in this process?
Do you want your loved one to be relieved from suffering while also not wanting to say goodbye?
This is for you if..
You or your loved one has been diagnosed with a terminal illness.
You or your loved one are already in the throws of the dying process and want more than the medical system is providing you.
You or your loved one wants to talk about dying and what it will look like for you.
You have a loved one that is passing and you don’t know how to support them.
Death is a human experience that is natural and simultaneously unnatural to know how to navigate it.
Just as you labor into this world when you are born, you labor out of this world when you die.
What our time together could be…
Services provided can include grief support, respite care, vigil planning and support, life and legacy review, funerals and goodbye parties, and practical support. We may find ourselves in conversation, working on projects, or simply sharing a moment of silence together and holding your hand. Family support can often include support around your home, running errands, and helping to facilitate difficult moments together.
I offer individual sessions and monthly packages based on your individual needs. They are relatively bespoke ranging from one hour a week to full days. Individual sessions start at $150 per hour, and go up from there depending on your needs. Sessions and packages can be tailored in any direction, and we will discuss ahead of time what your needs call for.
“I don’t know what I would have done without her as my husband transitioned. She was able to talk to us both about topics that normally felt hard and overwhelming. She allowed us to grow in our love throughout his last days as we connected through his dying.” ~ Wife of client.
Connect
I love this work because undivided attention is rare and when you are in transition it can feel like everyone's attention is on everything but you and the truth of what is happening.
Time and presence are a gift.
